If you need covered space for equipment, materials or work areas on Oahu, a container tent is one of the fastest ways to get it. A container tent is a steel framed, tarp covered shelter that spans two shipping containers, and HIWASTE MFG installs them for you. Here is what a container tent offers, what our installation service covers, and how to choose the right size.
What Is a Container Tent?
A container tent is a large covered structure built on top of two shipping containers. The containers act as the side walls, and the steel arch frame and tarp span the space between them, giving you a big open area under cover. It is a practical alternative to a permanent building for yards, job sites and storage areas.
Why We Install It for You
A container tent puts steel arches and hardware well above the ground, so installation takes the right crew and the right equipment. When you order from HIWASTE MFG, our crew installs your container tent on site across Oahu. We bring the crew and the equipment, including OSI telehandlers for lifting at height, so you do not have to find either. You end up with a finished, secured structure and can get back to work.
Built for Hawaii's Sun, Rain and Wind
Container tents are made to stand up to Hawaii's sun, rain and trade winds. The galvanized steel frame is designed to last 15+ years, and the UV-resistant tarp lasts up to 10 years. A properly installed single truss tent is rated for winds up to 65 mph, and double truss models are rated to 70 mph. If winds are expected to exceed the rating, we recommend removing the tarp so wind can pass through the frame, and we offer tarp removal and reinstallation on Oahu.
Choose the Right Size
Our container tents come in 20' x 20', 40' x 20', 40' x 40' x 13' and 40' x 40' x 15' sizes, plus a 40' x 40' x 21' free standing model. Each tent spans two shipping containers of matching length, and high cube, side opening and double door containers all work. The 40x40 shown here covers about 1,600 square feet of open space under cover, which suits equipment yards and larger work areas. Not sure which size fits your site? Send us a message and we will help you size it.
What Our Tent Installation Includes
Our crew installs container tents on site across Oahu, from setting out materials to a finished structure. A typical install covers:
Unloading and organizing the tent package on site
Welding the base plates to the containers
Hanging and securing the steel arches
Installing the cross pipes and tensioner wires
Filling holes and welding plates over the gaps
Laying out the back wall
Hanging the tarp and securing everything
Scheduling and price vary by site and tent size, so request a quote and we will go over the details.
Where a Container Tent Works
A container tent gives you covered space for equipment, materials and inventory, sheltered work areas on job sites, storage yards, and extra room for warehouse needs. Compared with a permanent structure, it is a cost effective option, and it goes up and comes down faster than traditional buildings. For Oahu contractors, yards and businesses, that means usable covered space sooner.
